“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” Isaiah 26:3, Amplified Version

Devotional – “Peace”

I don’t know about you, but more and more, as the days pass, peace becomes an ever growing treasure in my life! All of us have trials and pressures that come and go, new and old, but regardless of their size, the timing, or whether they are new or old, we all want and need more peace, deeper peace, and abiding peace, to see us through!

Our peace always seems to be a major target at which the enemy aims. We wake up in the middle of the night, and thoughts and worries begin to swirl around our heads making it difficult to get back to sleep. We’re not quite awake, so perhaps our discernment isn’t very sharp at the moment, and those little arrows get shot right into our hearts, going through our minds. Later, when we arise for the day, we have to pull out those poisoned arrows and brush off the worries of the night. Finances, health, relationships, decisions . . . . We must have peace in the midst of all these issues! As night approaches again, we have a new opportunity to rise to the challenge. We must learn how to wear our armor while we sleep!

The Lord promises that He will give to His beloved even in their sleep, and yet, so many attacks come during the night! We need to be aware, day and night, of the condition of our soul and what our minds are dwelling on! The key truly is to keep our minds concentrating on Him, trusting in Him. We need to be so sensitive and watchful of harmful thoughts that try to gain entrance and taint our trust in Him! He wants to take us to the place where we receive from Him, whether day or night. It goes beyond trying to find peace – to finding Him – in a deeper way!

He is faithful! He is our provider! He is our healer! He is our sun and shield! He never changes! He is our peace! Know God and know peace that passes all understanding!

Take this opportunity now, even as Thanksgiving is approaching, to be encouraged and strengthened in this area! What a beautiful thing to be filled with God, filled with peace, day and night! What delight to be always in communion with Him, never separated in any way from the Love of God!

Many Blessings!

Prayer

Dear Papa! You are so wonderful! We are so grateful that we don’t have to succumb to any enemy, but that you have made full provision for us in every way we could ever need! Thank you, Lord, that we can bring all our junk from our hidden closets, and the overextended garages of our hearts, where perhaps Your light has not shone for some time, and You will make the divine exchange! You will take in all our junk, load it up, and take it to the divine dump, where it will never be seen or remembered ever again!
Thank you, Lord, that no matter what enemies may be attacking us, You are roaring over us, down the enemy’s throat, and all we have to do is live for You and just let You roar in our behalf! You are so awesome, so beautiful, and so faithful! We repent for allowing the enemies of doubt, worry, and fear to gain entrance! Wash us clean, Lord! We look forward to all the good things You are going to give to us tonight as we sweetly sleep in Your Presence! In Jesus’ Name – Amen

  • Ask for the Lord to visit you and give to you what He has planned for you this night.
  • Ask the Lord to give you a Geiger counter for His peace present in you! Ask Him to do frequent checks on you, “How is your heart right now? Are you at peace, or are you worried or fearful?”
  • Are there certain people who cause you to worry or fret?
  • Are there certain people who help you walk in peace?
  • Take every thought captive! Don’t give way to those “little foxes”!
