Did You Know That the Stars Speak? They did in Abraham’s day! The creator of the universe gave a direct and amazing word to one of his friends. He told him to go out and count the number of stars that lit up the sky at night. Imagine, counting the stars at night! So, what did Abraham do? He went out and started counting the stars! I suppose it went something like this. After telling his wife, Sarah, good night, Abraham goes on a long walk in the evening air, pondering and peering into the heavens. In obedience, he [...]

Praying with Watchman’s Eyes: The Power of Prophetic Intercession

By | 2017-05-25T15:13:17+00:00 May 10th, 2017|James' Blog|2 Comments

Prophetic intercession is near and dear to my heart. I love the way God nudges me to pray about something so that He can intervene. I have seen so many amazing answers to prophetic prayer! Such prayers strike the mark much more often than those I invent out of my own limited heart and mind. What Moves the Hand of God? The Power of Compassionate Weeping

I am sure there are many right answers to the question; faith is a correct one, for sure! Purity, compassion and integrity would be other good answers to this simple yet profound question. But let me cast light for a moment on one strategic quality the Lord looks for: DESIRE. Webster’s defines the noun form of desire as “a wish or craving; sexual appetite; a request; anything desired.” The often-quoted teaching of [...]

A Personal Health and Ministry Update

"He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted." Job 5:7 NIV "'But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,' declares the LORD." Jeremiah 30:17 NIV The verses above serve as a plumb line in my life at this time. The Holy Spirit often highlights different portions of the Word of God, right when we need it most. I just discovered Job 5:7 just recently, and it jumped out at me as though it was the first time I'd ever seen the verse. “He performs wonders…" Yes, He does! Then add into the [...]

God's Calendar Contains Divine Appointments I have a calendar on which I write down my many diverse appointments. Because I am a widower, at the beginning of every New Year the first dates that go on my calendar are the birthdays of my four adult kids. But the four quickly became eight, as they all got married within a three-year time frame. So now I have eight appointments. Oh, mercy, those eight have now quickly become 14 and counting with grandchildren being added. My calendar is full of these special appointments—and I would not miss one of them. These are [...]
